Why I started this blog

Pole dancing has held a place in my heart ever since I discovered it 7 years ago. I have pole danced for 5 years in total and I have been practicing 4-5 days a week for two of those years now and a dream started to form – to share my knowledge and my passion with others! This dream is starting to become a reality.

As some of you may know, I’m getting ready to open my own Pole Dance Studio in Bucharest. In order to prepare for this, as well as completing a teacher training course, I am constantly researching to make sure that I have all the correct information when it comes to teaching students. I think this blog will be helpful for me to organise my thoughts, allowing me to think about how best to articulate my knowledge to my future students. Comments and discussion from other Pole Dancers and Teachers on this blog will also provide a platform for us all to gain more knowledge from each other’s experience.

Additionally, I love Pole Dancing and I can see that it is growing in Romania thanks to Ana Looser, the President and Founder of the Romanian Federation of Pole Fitness și Sport, to Ely Denysse, the Founder of the championship “Pole Art Romania” and to Dana Florina Bertolon the owner of Pole Fitness – Aerial Arts Studio. The Pole Fitness community in Romania is still relatively small compared to other countries however, and I would like to do my bit in growing and connecting the community! That is why as well as this blog, I started a Pole Dancers in Romania Facebook group where we can share achievements, advice, post questions and talk about upcoming Pole Dancing events. If you are already into pole dancing or are interested in pole dancing then you are more than welcome to join the group!

As well as being aimed at the existing Pole community in Romania this blog will also aim to educate those that don’t know very much about Pole because many people have misconceptions about what Pole Dancing is or what it should be. Of course, there are sexy styles and they are great but they’re not for everyone and I’d like to use this blog to talk about the other sides of Pole Dancing that not everybody knows about. That being said, I am a big fan of Exotic Pole Dance styles, so don’t worry, they definitely won’t be excluded from this blog!

I know another common misconception is that you have to be strong and flexible to even start! This won’t be an issue and it shouldn’t stop you from trying! Of course, you will gain flexibility and strength by attending the courses so it really isn’t something you should worry about but for those that want to prepare in advance, I will also be posting exercises that you can do at home – so look out for those!

I would love to hear from you in the comments and I would be extremely happy to welcome you all in my studio! If you want to learn more about New Heights you can contact me personally or follow us on Facebook and Instagram!

So now, let me show you the amazing and exciting world of Pole Dancing!

Having seen you dance I know that you will be inspirational to both those experienced or beginners.
When I am next in Bucharest I should love to book a lesson and urge anyone thinking about it to do so.
